Day 1 Depart Australia on an evening flight with Emirates via Dubai to Geneva.
Day 2 Arrive Geneva, Switzerland and transfer to Hotel Bristol, steps away from the waterfront and historic Old City attractions. Free afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 Geneva Half-day bus & walking tour of Geneva. Absorb the beauty of the quintessential European parks and elegant residences, see the Palais des Nations that houses the United Nations headquarters, stroll through the cobbled streets of the Old Town and feel the grandeur of Geneva's history. Visit the iconic 'Flower Clock', symbol of the city's watchmakers and the landmark water Jet d'Eau symbolising the strength and vitality of the city. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 Geneva & Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn mountains. After breakfast enjoy the spectacular drive to the medieval Chillon Castle, the most visited historic monument in Switzerland, an architectural jewel on the shores of Lake Geneva where we walk the corridors where the greatest European Emperors and Princes once trod. Our next stop is "Chaplin's world" at the Manoir du Ban which was Charlie Chaplin's home on the Swiss riviera . Afterwards, we continue via the Rhone Valley vineyard region to the car-free village of Zermatt. We reach Tasch station and board a mountain train for a short journey to our Hotel Ambassador at the foot of Zermatt's main shopping street with a backdrop of mountains and spellbound scenery. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5 Zermatt – Free day. Zermatt is a blend of medieval buildings and modern tourism that can be explored with a relaxing stroll through the village. Take the opportunity to relax in the shadows of Matterhorn or take a mountain trip for fantastic views of the surrounding Alpine peak.
Day 6 Zermatt & Lucerne The Swiss Paradise on the Lake After breakfast board the train to Tash and continue by bus to Lauterbrunnen where we will see the magical Staubbachfall waterfall, the highest free-falling waterfall in Europe. Here we board a rack railway train to Kleine Scheidegg on the foot of the Eiger mountain. Have some free time before we descend by train down to the Grindelwald valley. We will continue the journey by bus along Lake Brienz, over the Brunig Pass to Lucerne where we check into Radisson hotel for the next 4 nights. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7 Lucerne Half -day City Tour Explore Lucerne with a local guide and learn important, humorous and interesting facts about Lucerne's history, churches, bridges, narrow streets, towers, squares and Lucerne's trademark, the Chapel Bridge with Water Tower. Visit the famous Lion Monument, memorializing the Swiss Guards who were massacred 1792 during the French Revolution,
Day 8 Lucerne Full Day Excursion- Golden Round Trip Mt Pilatus. Experience this truly unforgettable excursion to see the awe-inspiring beauty of Lucerne's landmark mountain, Mt Pilatus. This trip has it all - a boat ride, the famous Cogwheel Railway and aerial cableway with panoramic gondolas. After we take a boat trip on Lake Lucerne and a spectacular ride on the world's steepest cog railway from Alpnachstad to the summit of Mt. Pilatus at 7,000ft. You'll be amazed by the panoramic views of the Alps! Then we take the aerial cableway 'Dragon Ride' and panoramic 4-seater gondolas down to Kriens, a suburb of Lucerne. A 20 min. coach ride takes us back to the city centre. Dinner.
Day 9 Lucerne Day at Leisure. Spend the time exploring the medieval town and shopping for watches and chocolates. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 Lucerne to Vaduz, Lichtenstein & Innsbruck, Austria After breakfast on route to Innsbruck, we will stop in the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein, pausing in Vaduz below the Prince's 700-year-old castle and picturesque backdrop. Enjoy some free time before crossing the border to Austria and continuing to Innsbruck, where we spend the night at the Hilton hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 11 Innsbruck Krems, Austria
After breakfast meet our local guide to discover Innsbruck's history, culture and popular attractions including Maria Theresien Strasse, the Hofburg and the 'Golden Roof; built in the 1600s as a Royal Box for Archduke Friedrich IV to view the tournaments held in the square below. Early afternoon we depart to Wachau Valley on the banks of the Danube, rich in history, blessed with a mild climate and outstanding white wines, the UNESCO cultural heritage site of Wachau is a magical land. We'll stay 2 nights in Krems - one of its prettiest towns .Tonight's dinner is at the Heurigen with a delicious buffet and wine tasting.
Day 12 Krems after breakfast we tour romantic Melk and the 11th century Abbey one of Europe's greatest sights were for 900 years, monks of St. Benedict have lived and worked. Free afternoon to explore the atmospheric historical centre, Dinner at the hotel.
Day 13 Krems - Spa Town Piestany, Slovakia
Day 13 Thermae – Piestany
Piestany, the world renown spa town which has been in existence since the 1800s. Piestany is known for its quality thermal mineral springs and restorative mud treatments. One of the springs is named after Beethoven, who was one of the many illustrious clients to 'take the waters' of Piestany.
This incredible resort with all the latest amenities is heaven for your body and restores your spirit.
We stay on the picturesque spa island close to the main part of the city. During your stay enjoy 3 meals daily and indulge with 4 spa treatments daily, each lasting 20 minutes. With a focus on health and rejuvenation, these are a completely different experience from 'beauty salon treatments'. Enjoy sightseeing, walking, dancing, gypsy music and folklore in the amazing park that leads you to a storybook town with many shops, outdoor cafes and markets. Here you can indulge yourself and get pampered for a full 12 days or if you are short of time 7 days at the amazing world renowned Thermae Piestany resort. From Piestany we visit the medieval town of Skalica, a beautiful town near the Czech border inhabited since 4000 BC and medieval town of Holic, where empress Maria Theresa rebuilt the castle into summer chateau of the Habsburgs.
For those staying 12 days at the spa town, we explore the capital city of Bratislava with its 2,000 year old history dating back to Celtic times, and enjoy Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" opera at the 100-year-old historic Opera House.
